General Booking FAQs

Q: How does the booking process work?

Complete the booking form with your event details and DJ Mel will respond within 1–2 business days to confirm availability. A short discovery call is then arranged to discuss your event, music direction and technical requirements. A bespoke quotation follows, and your date is secured once the deposit is received.

Q: What types of events do you cover?

DJ Mel performs at corporate events, brand activations, fashion launches, private parties, club nights and international bookings. Each performance is tailored to the audience and environment.

Q: Do you provide equipment and setup?

Yes. A professional setup can be supplied where required, including decks, PA/speakers and lighting. Equipment and technical logistics are confirmed during the planning stage.

Q: Can I choose the music?

Yes. Prior to the event, you can outline preferred genres, key tracks and any do-not-play requests. DJ Mel combines your input with her experience to create a cohesive and well-balanced set.

Q: Do you take song requests on the night?

Requests can be accommodated where appropriate and where they align with the overall flow of the event. For structured or formal events, requests can be agreed in advance.

Q: How far in advance should I book?

For peak dates, booking 4–6 weeks in advance is recommended. Short-notice enquiries may be accommodated subject to availability.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due prior to the event. Full payment terms are outlined in your booking agreement.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Cancellations and reschedules are managed on a case-by-case basis in line with the agreed booking terms. Full details are provided in your contract.

Q: Can you extend your set time?

If the venue permits, additional hours can usually be arranged. Overtime rates are agreed in advance or confirmed on the day where applicable.

Q: Do you travel for events?

Yes. DJ Mel is available throughout the UK and internationally. Travel and accommodation requirements are discussed during the booking process.

Q: What does the venue need to provide?

A suitable performance space with reliable power access is required. Outdoor events must provide appropriate cover for equipment. Setup and soundcheck timings are confirmed in advance.

Q: Where can I view full booking terms?

Full terms and conditions are shared privately once your booking is confirmed.

Yes. Key moments such as entrances, first dance and reception transitions are planned in advance. A curated playlist is developed around your preferences to ensure a seamless flow.

Q: Do you meet before the event?

Yes. A planning meeting (virtual or in person) is arranged prior to the event to finalise music selections, schedule and technical requirements.

Q: Do you provide music for reception and dinner?

Yes. Background and ambient music can be provided throughout drinks receptions, dinner service and transitional moments.

Q: Can you provide microphones and additional sound?

Microphones, speakers and lighting can be supplied as required. All technical requirements are confirmed during planning.
