You’ll discuss your event type, music direction, and setup needs. A bespoke quote will follow and, once the deposit is received, your date is secured.

Q: What types of events do you cover?
DJ Mel performs at corporate events, brand activations, private parties, club nights, and international bookings. Every performance is tailored to your crowd and the atmosphere you want to create.

Q: Do you provide equipment and setup?
Yes. A full professional setup can be supplied — decks, PA/speakers, and lighting — if the venue doesn’t provide them. Equipment and logistics are finalised during planning.

Q: Can I choose the music?
Absolutely. Before the event, you’ll confirm preferred genres, key tracks, and any do-not-play songs. DJ Mel blends your input with experience to craft the perfect set for your audience.

Q: Do you take song requests on the night?
Yes — where time allows and if the request suits the event’s flow. For larger or formal events, requests can be pre-approved in advance.

Q: How far in advance should I book?
For popular dates, aim for 4–6 weeks in advance. Last-minute events are sometimes possible depending on availability — feel free to ask.

Q: Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due before the event. Payment details and timelines are confirmed in your booking agreement.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Cancellations and reschedules are handled on a case-by-case basis. Full terms, including deposit and refund policy, are outlined in your confirmation invoice or contract.

Q: Can you play longer than planned?
If the venue allows and the vibe is right, extra hours can usually be added. Rates for overtime are agreed in advance or on the day if needed.

A safe, weather-protected space with a reliable power supply. Outdoor events must provide adequate cover for the DJ booth and equipment. Setup and soundcheck timing is coordinated in advance.

Q: How do you approach wedding bookings?
Each wedding is unique. After your enquiry, you’ll have a discovery call to understand your vision, timeline, and preferred atmosphere — from ceremony to last dance. Together you’ll plan equipment, logistics, and music for each part of the day, and receive a bespoke quote.

Q: Can we help choose the music?
Definitely. DJ Mel curates a tailored playlist around your tastes and key moments (entrance, first dance, cake cutting). There’s also an optional guest playlist so friends and family can submit song requests in advance.

Q: Do you meet couples before the day?
Yes. A planning meeting (in-person or virtual) is arranged after booking to finalise the schedule, special tracks, and event logistics.

Q: Do you provide background music for reception and dinner?
Yes — smooth background and ambient music can be provided across reception, dinner, and transitions so the day flows perfectly into the party.

Q: Can you provide ceremony/speech microphones and additional sound?
